Mallard Duck

Female

Female mallard duck expecting feed. (Joanne McKinnon)Yesterday, I had my camera all set up on the tripod to take close-ups of maple tree flowers when this female mallard came towards me.
They now associate my presence with food.
I managed to change the setting of the camera and take a few of her before going inside to get seeds.

Ribba Frames

Ready made Frames

Sample Erna Lindgreen parrot tulip fine art print framed in a black Ribba and lighted with an aluminum picture light from the same collection. (Joanne McKinnon)Yesterday, I went to IKEA and got another Ribba frame for the full-size Colorcade Lilac print.
The advantage of these frames, other than the price, is that the mat board can be changed for Bainbridge Alpharag Artcare conservation mat.
The 4 ply, 100% cotton museum rag is too thick for most ready made frames.
I ordered the mat from Wallacks and I believe they are also available from Deserres.

As you can see by the photo the Erna Lindgreen is already mounted this way.
Because the glazing is glass, I cannot ship the prints framed.
For now they are kept as showpieces and sold only to local collectors.

The Ribba aluminum picture light is also from IKEA.

Blackberry Photo

Cloudy Sky

Sky photo taken with Blackberry Curve 9300. .Removed noise and jpeg artifacts..Used Topaz Clean to smooth out the roufh edges. (Joanne McKinnon)

When I run errands, I don’t bring my camera with me.
Many times I wished I had, like yesterday.
The sky over Gatineau was covered with heavy clouds.
Out of curiosity, I took a shot with my Blackberry Curve 9300.
The image resolution is of course very low.
The original image had plenty of noise and compression artifacts.
I cleaned it up in Photoshop and used Topaz Clean to smooth out the harsh lines.
Not a great image but could do as a header.
