The reference page for Pulsatilla vulgaris is now updated and moved. I was hoping to add Red Cloak this year, but late frost and rain made it impossible to take a clear shot.

The Perennial Gallery includes a shot of plumed seed heads.

This will be the last post about postcrossing on this blog. They will now return to Blogger I lost that blog for a few months, but now everything is back to normal. So if you are a postcrosser,  you will need to update your bookmark.

Now about the card. The image is of an oil on canvas by Frederick McCubbin called Winter Sunlight (1908). This card is one of my favourites.

The McKana Giant page is now updated and moved. Only four more updates and then new perennials will be added. More photos were taken this year, but none came out as clear. This long spurred hybrid comes in different colours. For some reason, only the pink have survived.

More aquilegias will be added in the Perennials.

Looking Glass updated and moved to new location. Web links, reference books and sources are now on same page.

While doing research for the new Dicentra page, I found a book title “Bleeding Hearts, Corydalis, and Their Relatives“. The image on the cover alone makes it a must-have. I used the “Look Inside” option to see if it could also be useful. The book is very well researched, and the photos are stunning. It’s now on my wish list.

The Perennial index is now in the new location. For the moment, only Arctic Blue is on the same, easy to remember, URL. The rest still directs you to the original dynamic site. When the old pages are updated, a link to their new home will replace it.

More perennials will be added. If you prefer to view only the photos, visit the Gallery. Every album can be viewed as a slideshow. The photos stand out a bit more against the darker background.

The Table of Content is now updated. It now contains main links to individual index lists. This avoids lots of repeats.

This card was sent to me by a young hockey player in Finland. The look in the cat’s eyes is priceless.
