Morden Blush Parkland rose photo

Morden Blush

Photo Paper

As posted earlier, I’m testing photo papers.
None are suitable for every image.
‘Morden Blush’ soft colours looked dull on certain paper.
Printed on Epson Premium Photo Luster, the rose looks touchable.

Tuscany Superb

Tuscany Superb gallica rose photographed at the Experimental Farm, Ottawa.

Tuscany Superb

Gallica Rose

A rose on my wish list.
I took this photo in the old rose garden of the
Central Experimental Farm in 2008.
Superb is a seedling of Tuscany, one of the oldest Gallicas.
The flowers are described as larger, dark purple mottled with crimson.

Explorer Rose Garden

Garden Visits

Every year, I visit public and private gardens for inspiration.
The Experimental Farm is one of my favourites.
They have two sections for roses.
One is for the Explorer series and another for older varieties.
The best time to visit the older roses is at the beginning of summer.
The Explorer roses start to bloom in early summer and continues until first frost.

Teasing Georgia English rose

Planted last year and just added to Rose Gallery and Collection. English roses do well in my garden when protected during the colder months. They repeat so you have plenty of opportunities to photograph them. Their fragrance also makes them worth adding to your own garden.
