Season 2012

New Artwork

New season comes with more photography opportunities.
With the lilac blooming period just beginning, the garden is alive with colour.
More varieties were added, and others photographed again with new filter.
I’ve got a few set aside for retouching with Corel Painter brushes.
This can take from a few hours to a few weeks.
I rather not rush this part of the work.
Hope you are enjoying the great weather too.

Social

Sometimes photos are not quite sharp enough for the Portfolio.
I have no lens in my kit for long range shots.
And sometimes I just take pictures for the fun of it.
My garden is surrounded by a forest, and at times the visitors are a little quirky.

Circular Pl Filter

Hoya Pro1

Sunlover double late tulip in Commissioner's Park one week before the annual Canadian Tulip Festival in Ottawa, Ontario. (Joanne McKinnon)When I visited the Commissioner’s Park last Sunday, I finally got a chance to try out my new Hoya Pro1 Circular PL filter.
Without the filter, the orange blends of the double late Sunlover tulip glowed like a neon sign.
I still had to make some adjustments in Photoshop, but no part was bleached out.
I hope to do the same with red roses.
